An Overview of Trump’s Visit to Saudi Arabia

President Trump in the past several days has been in Saudi Arabia as a part of his 9-day foreign trip, after a long week of accusations about Russia, leaks, and even the accusation made by the Washington Post of calling former FBI Director James Comey a “nut job.”

Trump’s arrival to the country was greeted with a red carpet, a flyover by jets, and a military band. From there King Salman greeted both Trump and Melania. They were then taken to a coffee ceremony.

Upon his arrival, many news outlets and Twitter users were quick to point out that both Melania and Trump were not wearing the robes the majority of people wear in the Muslim nation. Trump has previously criticized Michael Obama for not wearing a “scarf” during her visit to Saudi Arabia.

He said in his tweet: “Many people are saying it was wonderful that Mrs. Obama refused to wear a scarf in Saudi Arabia, but they were insulted. We have enuf enemies.”

As well as visiting with the king Trump also made several deals with the nation while he was there. Among these deals is a $310 billion dollar arms deal, with $110 billion to be paid out immediately to the United States. This deal will carry out over the course of 10 years. A deal was also made to provide $100 million dollars to a World Bank fund to help women entrepreneurs, created by Ivanka Trump.

Trump also gave a speech on radical Islamic terrorism and engaged in private talks with the Saudis during his time. He also received a medal from the Saudi King, with some criticizing him for what appeared to be a bow, with other saying that he had to receive the medal, due to height differences.

As of this writing, President Trump just landed in Israel, where he will stay for two days as part of his trip. The Conservative Nut will keep you updated on Trump’s trip, as well as other national news.
