US Deploys Strike Group to Korean Peninsula

The US military has officially stationed Carrier Strike Group One, otherwise known as the Carl Vinson Strike Group, to the Korean Peninsula. The Strike Group, containing the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, two guided-missile destroyers and a guided-missile cruiser, has the strategic capability of intercepting ICBM's and other ballistic missiles. This is in response to North Korean recent tests of more missiles, which on Wednesday, it test-fired a medium-range ballistic missile from its eastern port of Sinpo into the Sea of Japan, and the possibility of their development of an intercontinental missile. Even though the reclusive state has been sanctioned by the UN and is no longer permitted to carry out any more tests, it is expected that they are developing capabilities to have a nuclear warhead strike US soil.
