On Tuesday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions declared that
“This is a new era, this is the Trump era."
What this means, is that under the Trump Administration, America is finally calling for the immigration enforcement that she needs. In less than one hundred days of the Trump presidency, Trump claims to have slashed illegal aliens from crossing the border in significant percentages.
“Last month, we saw a 64 percent reduction in illegal immigration on our southern border.”

“My administration is — just a matter of weeks, literally, a short period of time — has brought record reductions to illegal immigration. Record reductions. Down 61 percent since inauguration. General Kelly is doing a fantastic job.”
— Trump, remarks at North America’s Building Trades Unions conference, April 4, 2017
“You see what’s happened: 61 percent down now in terms of illegal people coming in. Way, way down in terms of drugs pouring into our country and poisoning our youth. Way down. General Kelly has done a great job.”
— Trump, remarks at CEO Town Hall on Unleashing American Business, April 4, 2017
Trump's success can be found through his stringent policies that have strengthened ICE's ability to deport illegal aliens within the United States, and his strong support for the Department of Homeland Security. Though some claim that some of the statistics that Trump draws from is partly before his inauguration, it would only be logical that the decrease in illegal immigration arose only through potential border crossers becoming deterred from the act after seeing Trump's genuine will to act.
